How To Get Ready For A First Date - 8 Must-Have Tips

8 Tips To Create A Lasting Impression On Him

This article provides a set of actionable tips to help ladies look their best and leave a lasting impression of that first date with a potential partner.

The perfect date takes place when you create enough chemistry and affection to guarantee you another meeting with your potential suitor. Preparing for a date can be a daunting task, especially if you really like someone and you’re trying to ensure you look your best so you can put on a great first impression.

One thing you should not forget, however, is that a healthy diet plays a critical role in the way you look. So, eat healthy foods and drink lots of water.

Additionally, the way you present yourself to the public determines the type of people you attract and the level of attraction you can draw out of your date. To help you prepare to look your best on your upcoming date, here are a few quick tips that don’t require you to completely change your life but allow you to be that much more attractive.

1. Wear Fitting Clothes

Long gone are the days when you would just put on anything for a date and still win the man’s heart with your charm. For you to look impeccable today, you should wear a fitting feminine outfit. Whatever body shape you have, fitting clothes will always make you that much more attractive, especially since they will obviously emphasize your luscious curves. Such outfits will make you seem like you put your best foot forward.

PS: fitting does not mean tight. Wearing tight clothes is not only uncomfortable, but it makes you look like you’re trying too hard.

2. Work on Your Posture

Maintaining posture is very important and often forgotten. When you stand or sit up straight, you give an impression and aura of confidence which many people find even more attractive than a pretty face.

Great posture shows people that you are comfortable in your own skin and helps you always look even better in anything you wear. The right posture also creates an aura of sleekness and charm and makes you look like the perfect lady.

3. Get Your Nails Taken Care Of

Before the date begins, you need to have your nails taken care of by a professional. This means you need to schedule a manicure appointment beforehand.

Believe it or not, many men do notice your nails and discern certain information about you - right or wrong - based on what they see. The most important thing is that they are clean because it shows that you actively take care of your appearance.

In terms of color or design, keep it simple - solid colors work better than elaborate designs because nail art is usually a hit or miss. You really can’t go wrong with white, red or a light pink. On the other hand, stay away from extreme or bright colors such as lime green or neon yellow.

If you’re wearing open-toed shoes, it’s important to get a pedicure as well.

4. Pamper Your Skin

Taking good care of your skin will allow you to have a beautiful glow and reduce the need for makeup. One to three days before your date, treat yourself to a professional facial at a spa or give yourself an activated charcoal mask.

It is important to do this before the day of your date so that your skin can replenish and be ready for makeup, speaking of which...

5. Take It Easy On The Makeup

Do not wear too much make up for your first date. Keep it as close to your natural looks as possible - less makeup is always better than too much. If your date develops into something more permanent, eventually you will have to introduce him to the “real” you.

Always take a step back from the mirror and ensure that everything is even, particularly your face and neck.

6. Hit the Gym

Hitting the gym occasionally helps you build your self-esteem and maintain a physically fit look. If your date is in the near future, you won’t get your body to where you want in time but the benefits of a workout are much more than a great body.

Working out stimulates the production of serotonin which is basically a happy hormone and mood stabilizer to help you with feeling positive and relaxed, which is when most people look their best.

7. Floss and Brush Your Teeth

Whether you have white and perfectly straight teeth or not, you must ensure to clean them daily and especially before your date. Even more so than your nails, oral hygiene is an incredible indicator of self-care and cleanliness.

Many people admit that one of the first things they notice about someone is their mouth or teeth. Seeing plaque buildup or smelling a foul smell on your breath are bound to send your date running for the hills regardless of how well you are dressed, smelling good will get a man in touch will all of his senses.

8. A little Fragrance

When you find the great scent that works for you, don’t use the whole bottle.

There’s no need for people 20 feet away to be able to tell or ask you what perfume you’re wearing. A few sprays to your collarbone, ears, inner elbow and wrist are more than enough to not only supplement your natural scent but make him remember you every time he feels it in the air.

Floral scents are always preferred for women and are always easier to pull off.
